Majestic elegance and top gastronomy go hand in hand!

“Lavish elegance tailored for the demands of our time - this is going to be Prestige Hotel Budapest, the capital’s new hotel-specialty opening in the spring of 2015,” greeted his guests with this announcement Mazen Al Ramahi at the evening reception on 4th December 2014, where top business partners of the existing two members of the hotel chain, namely Boutique Hotel Budapest in Só Street and Continental Hotel Budapest in Dohány Street, and the media were invited.

The historic facade of the gorgeous building in Vigyázó Ferenc Street, designed by József Hild, is being meticulously restored into its former beauty. The building is being restored in way that the even its internal structure shall stay intact, allowing all 85 rooms to open to the inner circular gallery, which is a 6-storey-high atrium. The plans include a relax centre and a conference hall as well, so that the hotel shall be able to meet the requirements of guest arriving in Budapest either as tourists or on business at the same time.

The underlying principles of Prestige’s reconstruction planning were design and quality work without compromises. The interior designers Virág Vörös, Csilla Sáfrány and Tünde Bagyinszkiné Kiss are combining vintage and modern style, classic peacetime elegance and state-of-the-art facilities in designing and furnishing every room and all common areas. The interiors are dominated by IPE Cavalli furniture, Swarovski crystal chandeliers, Villeroy & Boch sanitary ware, English hand-painted silk wallpaper, SICIS floors with bronze granular pattern, premium quality Harlequin Leonida Velvet textiles, which are all real treats for the eyes.

Prestige Hotel Budapest’s business partner shall be Costes, which is run by Károly Gerendai and chef Miguel Rocha Vieira. The restaurant has been voted the 25th best restaurant of the World, and has recently been awarded the very first Michelin star in Hungary. In order to keep the Michelin star, the restaurant operates at its original Ráday Street address for a while as well, but the new Costes Downtown restaurant opening in the hotel shall be the new flagship of the franchise. The Portuguese star chef guarantees the same calibre of creatively crafted cuisine at both locations. In accordance with international trends, the new site will bear a bit more relaxed, cosy ambience, where diners will enjoy their meals in a harmonic and sophisticated milieu. Besides fully serving all hotel guests, Costes Downtown will be certainly open for all guests walking in from the street as well. With nearly twice as much seating space as the original Ráday Street location’s almost cramped rooms, the new hotel site also features a show kitchen and a chef’s table luring in all lovers of gastronomy.

Now it is up to the pre-opening team introduced at the event to successfully lead the Prestige Hotel Budapest to the market in a way worthy of its name.
